MapDrive 2.0
MapDrive Version 2.0 is a free windows based program, which
allows you to manage various network connections. The selected
connections are grouped in a profile and called to be connected
whenever the project requires it. A connection group can be
attached all at once or just a specific network connection from
the group. A user is able to detach unused network connections
(all or selected). All defined connection are recorded in the
availability configuration with description and required
parameters and made available for the specific profiles. A
connection can be persistent, which means it will be available
for the next PC start or just temporary for the current PC
session. Username and password can be addressed but not saved
for security reasons.
The advantage of the program is the use of profiles for
different project needs. Network connections can be attached to
the local PC at the time of the project requirements and
detached when there are not used anymore. This improves the
access time to your PC, in particular when opening, saving or
browse files. Therefore a large number of attached networks
should be avoided. People that are mobile during their job
activities appreciate the possibility to have different mapped
network profiles at different locations.
